Initial Consultation
What you can expect at your initial consultation.
You will be sent out a 6 page medical history form to be completed and returned (SAE provided) before the consultation date. This is simply to give me a full picture of your health situation before I see you and this will allow me to take more time on physical assessments within that first session.The work of a Naturopath is a bit like a forensic scientist and on that first consultation we are gathering evidence and making links between different presenting symptoms, then we can make firm conclusions as to the causative nature of the illness or disease.
During the 1 1/2 to 2 hour initial consultation session you can expect the following checks :
- Brief iridology assessment (the iris of the eyes, see page on Iridology).
- Tongue check
- Nail check
- Blood pressure check.
- Weight
- Body fat
- Body water
- BMR
- Muscle mass
- Dietary analysis
Please bring with you any supplements you may be taking as these can be assessed for suitability with any proposed treatment.A note will also be made of any medical drugs you may be taking at the time of assessment.
This session is an investigative one and you may need time beyond the consultation in order to decide whether or not you wish to start treatment.
PLEASE NOTE : There is always negotiation between patient and practitioner concerning treatment protocols and all information given and confidentiality of the patient is retained at all times. Medical records are stored securely and no electronic or digital records are maintained.
